Music educator and songwriter Paul Mowbray was born in Saskatoon. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree, Music Major, from the University of Saskatchewan. Paul has played in music groups through the years in Saskatchewan, on Salt Spring Island, and in Victoria. His music can be heard on numerous albums. Paul was co-ordinator of the Songwriter’s Association of Canada Victoria chapter for 4 years.
Paul specializes in acoustic steel string guitar. He is fascinated by the process of studying and playing music and believes that the teacher and the student are both on the journey. His current songwriting can be heard on bandcamp. His passion for the acoustic guitar and how it can be used to write songs and accompany the voice have lead him to present numerous workshops. He currently performs songs that flow out of his study of 20th and early 21st century popular music.

Emily McDermid is finishing her Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Victoria. While her main instrument is trumpet, she is experienced with other brass including horn and tuba. Currently she is involved with the UVic Wind symphony and a Balkan gypsy jazz band named Bucan Bucan. Emily teaches a wide range of styles thanks to studying under five fantastic private instructors including Lou Ranger, Niki Taylor, and Tom Shorthouse.
