Amy comes to us with 19 years teaching experience having started teaching professionally at the early age of 16. A childhood steeped in choir practices and lessons in piano, flute and voice led Amy to Douglas College where she trained classically, excelling in her study of the voice as well as music theory and history.
Since moving to Vancouver Island 12 years ago, Amy has conducted 2 children’s choirs as well as the adult amateur Revelation Gospel Choir. She also sings in Victoria’s premiere chamber choir Vox Humana. Amy is a sought after coach working with many of the Island’s professional/semi-professional bands and vocalists, preparing lead and backup singers alike for the challenges of touring and recording. She is also in demand as a harmony singer and can even be found performing with PIGS, a Pink Floyd tribute band, and her rendition of Great Gig in the Sky brings the house down every time.
Amy’s approach varies to suit the needs of each student, but the goal is always the same: giving you the tools to develop your own individual style while protecting your voice. Understanding and properly using your body to support your voice will give you the desired results. Singers of all ages and skill levels welcomed.
