I began my studies in bass guitar under Eric Emde in the Victoria Highschool RnB band and continued by performing with his ensemble the Midnights from 2009-2013. In my tenure there I became versed in Motown, Funk, and Pop styles by emulating the Electric Bass styles of the late Bob Babbit, James Jamerson, as well as Rocco Prestia and many others. Some artists that I draw inspiration from include Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, John Coltrane, Scott Lafaro, Coleman Hawkins, Ray Brown, Robert Glasper, Marvin Gaye and many more. In recent years I have had the privilege to play with and be inspired by many talented artists in varying genres such as Pop, Jazz, Metal, Hip Hop, Ska, Reggae, Blues, Rock, Country, Soul, Funk, Motown, and Folk.
I have completed the Jazz Diploma Program studying Double Bass at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. While there I had the pleasure to study under David Clenman, Gergana Velinova, Rob Cheremy, Joey Smith, George McFetridge, Karel Roessingh, Wes Wragget, and Gordon Clements.
If you are interested in beginning on bass, improving your bass technique, a course in theory, or applying the knowledge you already possess to your playing, I would love to help you.
