Monique Fink,B.Mus, is a classically trained cellist. She began her studies at an early age of four with the Suzuki Method. Before University, Monique completed many musical camps including Suzuki Camps in Bellingham, Langley, Seattle and was also a part of the Summer Pops Youth Orchestra. She continued her passion for music at both Douglas College in New Westminster, and soon after at the University of Victoria completing her Bachelor of Music Degree in 2005. Monique has excelled in Royal Conservatory of Music Exams in both the cello and the piano, obtaining first class honors in many of them. She has played in various orchestras over the years such as the University of Victoria Orchestra, Burnaby Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Academy Orchestra, and has played in chamber music groups for over 10 years.
Monique enjoys teaching cello to people of all ages: beginner through advanced levels. She is also a proficient violin teacher for beginner students. Overall, her method of teaching is flexible depending on the students needs. She is well versed in the Suzuki method and is familiar with the strings program in the Victoria district Schools.

Emily McDermid is finishing her Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Victoria. While her main instrument is trumpet, she is experienced with other brass including horn and tuba. Currently she is involved with the UVic Wind symphony and a Balkan gypsy jazz band named Bucan Bucan. Emily teaches a wide range of styles thanks to studying under five fantastic private instructors including Lou Ranger, Niki Taylor, and Tom Shorthouse.
